Job Description
We are urgently seeking qualified midwives to join our dedicated team at Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this rewarding role, you will work in the Maternity Department, providing essential support to mothers, newborns, and families during one of life’s most profound moments.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Patient Care: Provide high-quality, compassionate care to mothers and their babies throughout pregnancy, labour, and postnatal stages. Your role will include offering guidance, conducting assessments, and administering safe, effective treatment plans.
Clinical Expertise: Assist with antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care in a fast-paced hospital environment, using your expertise to manage both routine and complex cases. Maintain a strong knowledge of current maternity practices and provide care that aligns with NHS standards.
Collaboration: Work alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless, supportive experience for each patient. Effective communication and teamwork are essential in delivering safe, patient-centred care.
Education and Support: Educate and empower expectant mothers and their families, providing information on infant care, breastfeeding, recovery, and ongoing wellness. Offer emotional support and comfort as part of a holistic approach to patient care.
Requirements
Qualified Midwife with current NMC registration
Previous experience in a hospital or clinical maternity setting is essential
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and deliver compassionate, high-quality care
Commitment to patient safety and well-being, with attention to detail and the ability to work in high-pressure environments
