An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Practitioner to join the Child Protection and Early Intervention Team at Redbridge Council. Based at Lynton House, this role is ideal for a highly motivated, dynamic, and tenacious individual looking to expand their experience in social work management and decision-making. This role is crucial in supporting children and families, offering the chance to lead in various areas of social work practice and manage complex cases requiring court proceedings.
Job Description
Lead on complex cases involving Child in Need and Child Protection Plans, and initiate PLO and Court Proceedings as needed.
Conduct thorough assessments and develop SMART care plans for children, young people, and their families.
Mentor and support Newly Qualified Social Workers, enhancing social work practice across the service.
Represent the service confidently in professional forums, demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills.
Deputise for the Practice Manager, including quality assurance of social workers' outputs and overseeing team operations when required.
Requirements
Proven experience in working with children, young people, and families, particularly in statutory roles under the Children Act 1989.
Strong understanding of Safeguarding Children legislation and guidance.
Excellent assessment, analytical, and care planning skills with a focus on achieving positive outcomes.
Track record of meeting statutory timescales and establishing positive relationships with service users and colleagues.
Competent in managing cases that involve court orders and proceedings.
